Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly beach, you’re more interested in fishing and bird-watching, or you’re ready for some adventure and water sports, there are plenty of beaches available in and near Oxnard to visit during your stay at Beachy Keen!

Oxnard State Beach Park

This is the closest beach to Beachy Keen’s property. Walk just about 150 steps toward the coast from our property and you will find yourself at this family-friendly park with grass, picnic tables, a playground for your kids, volleyball courts, paths, and a view of Channel Islands National Park! This beach is wheelchair accessible and pet friendly—just remember to keep your dogs on leash and pick up after them!

Mandalay State Beach

Just a little ways further north, Mandalay State Beach is actually a coastal wildlife preserve. There are wetlands and sand dunes in the park, and the beach is a good one for fishing. Mandalay beach is a very popular bird-watching spot and part of the beach is marked as protected area in order to preserve the local wildlife.

Hobie Beach

Hobie Beach is one of the more crowded beaches in Oxnard, but offers calm waters, which makes it an ideal beach for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and wading. There are rentals available by the beach, and you can kayak around Channel Islands National Park and explore the islands and caves.

Hollywood Beach

South of Oxnard State Beach, Hollywood beach is a mile-long beach very close to Channel Islands National Park. Because it is so large, it is less likely to be crowded. There are lifeguards on duty here and it is a great place to swim, sunbathe, picnic, and play volleyball, with a close view of the Channel Islands.

Silver Strand Beach

Looking to catch some waves? Silver Strand beach is the place to go if you want to go surfing. Further south still, Silver Strand beach is a favorite of the locals because it is fairly uncrowded; the downside is that it is more difficult to access than many of the other local beaches. This beach is an ideal spot for peacefully sunbathing, and kayaking too!

Kiddie Beach Park

This family-and-dog-friendly beach is in the Channel Islands Harbor. It is protected from the ocean waves, which makes it safer for your kids and pets to play in the water. There are lifeguards on duty, and restrooms and showers are available.
