Don’t you hate when you’re trying to enjoy your family vacation, but keep remembering all of the things you wished you had packed? We’ll help you do a pre-trip inventory so you and your family can come prepared for a Beachy Keen getaway! Here’s a list to get you started planning your must-haves for a family beach vacation.
The Basics
You don’t want to leave on your trip without these staple items.
Underwear and Socks: Keyword: extras. You never know what will happen on your adventures, especially if you have kids who can’t wait to change into a swimsuit before jumping in the ocean!
Weather-appropriate clothes: Bring enough changes of clothes for the duration of your Beachy Keen trip, and make sure you’ll be prepared for the forecasted weather. (But feel free to do laundry in our laundry room.)
Toiletries: How many times have you forgotten your toothbrush, favorite shampoo, special skincare products, or other such items on a trip? Not this time…
Chargers: Keep your phones, laptops, and other devices fully charged and ready.
Medications: Bring your prescribed medications, vitamins, epipens, and allergy or other medications you want to have on hand.
Beach Essentials
Here’s a list of must-haves for the time you’ll spend in the sand and surf with the whole family. With the nearest beach only 150 steps away from the Beachy Keen property, you’ll get plenty of use out of these oceanside necessities.
Sunscreen: Keep yourself and your family safe from sunburn and sun damage so you can have peace of mind while you lounge. Don’t forget to reapply!
Blanket: Bring a beach blanket or two to sit and lay on while you’re not in the water.
Towels: Dry yourselves off after your dip! Towels are also useful under wet bottoms in the car and for dusting the sand off when you’re ready to leave.
Swimsuits: Bring a few for everyone so you can dip as many times as you like while yesterday’s suit is drying. (We have a washer and dryer available for you to do laundry, but it’s always good to pack extras.)
Sunglasses and sun hats: Soak up the sun, but shade your face.
Cover-ups: For when you’re going to and from the beach.
Sandals or water shoes: Because no one wants sandy or soggy sneakers.
Goggles and snorkel: Look for fish and other friends underwater!
Light Sweaters: For outdoor lounging in the evening.

Speaker: Add some groove to your beach day with some music.
Beach toys: Hand-crafted sand castles are awesome, but tools help!
Camera: Capture all the special memories you’ll be making on your Beachy Keen vacation.
S’mores Kit: Make the most of the fire pit in the backyard.
